The activation represented a pioneering application of social robotics in Greek retail, as, for the first time in a Greek supermarket, a social robot was used to support an organised product promotional campaign, bringing to the Greek market a practice that is already developing rapidly internationally.

As part of MEGA’s innovative “BACK TO SCHOOL” activation, Pepper, with the technological support of ORTEM HELLAS S.A., welcomed and interacted with both children and adult visitors to the store, actively participating in the presentation and promotion of the products.

Throughout the activation, Pepper communicated with visitors through voice interaction and its integrated touchscreen, inviting children and parents to take part in specially designed interactive quizzes and games.

The response from the public was particularly positive, with both children and adults showing great enthusiasm and actively participating in the interactive experience created specifically for the promotional campaign.

The activities focused on themes related to returning to school, personal hygiene and children’s everyday routines, creating a distinctive, enjoyable and engaging experience inside the supermarket.

Pepper’s presence was not simply an impressive technological feature. The robot functioned as an active communication, interaction and product-promotion medium, introducing a new way for brands to approach and engage consumers within the retail environment.

The 100% Greek company MEGA, consistently embracing innovation, supported the idea of introducing the Pepper robot into a supermarket environment and designed an original promotional activation combining technology, special offers on its products, commemorative gifts for children and, above all, a unique consumer experience.

Within the specially designed area hosting the “Back to School” activation, an impressive school-bus-themed installation was combined with Pepper’s presence, creating a distinctive setting that immediately attracted visitors’ attention and gave children the opportunity to play, have fun and participate in educational quizzes together with the robot.

MASOUTIS, a company that has repeatedly demonstrated its commitment to technological innovation, warmly embraced the promotional initiative by hosting the activation at GRAND MASOUTIS Kalamaria and contributing to its successful implementation.

ORTEM HELLAS S.A. provided and supported the Pepper social robot for the activation, undertaking its technical preparation and configuration, as well as the development of the interactive content used during its communication with visitors.

We are very pleased to announce that ORTEM HELLAS S.A. has been certified in accordance with the international standard ISO/IEC 42001:2023, which pertains to Artificial Intelligence Management Systems.

This certification makes ORTEM HELLAS S.A. one of the first companies in Greece in the field of robotics and automation to be certified according to ISO/IEC 42001:2023, confirming its pioneering role in the responsible development and utilization of Artificial Intelligence systems.

The certification covers the following scope:
